SHANNON KING WARD'S
REUNION BIOGRAPHY
It was 1970 and Kathy Drago and I were off to UNR to start the party. We had a great time in Reno, maybe too much fun. Kathy studied Art and I did some theater until I realized that I would have to get a job after I graduated. I changed my major to Education with a plan to teach special needs students.
I met my husband, David, in the Theater Department at UNR and eventually moved with him to Los Angeles. I graduated with a degree in Special Education from Cal State, LA. We bought a house in Venice Beach but eventually decided to move back to Reno when our first child, Amanda, was born.
I have worked in education for 34 years, as a preschool teacher, Kindergarten teacher, Special Education teacher and finally as a Special Education Administrator. We had a second child, Ryan, and enjoyed family life in Reno. David worked in advertising and we both retired in 2018. We love to spend time at our cabin, at Amanda's beach house in Santa Cruz, and doing a bit of traveling.
I feel very blessed to have two great kids, a wonderful son in law, and two twin grandsons. Life is good. David and I will celebrate 47 years of marriage on June 30th. I hope we are able to have the reunion and spend some time with our crazy classmates from 1970. I have fond memories of so many of you.
